The One Where Sister Wankier Falls in Love with Houston !!!

 Hi you guys!!! 😇

This week was my first official p-day to p-day week and let me tell you I feel like all 18 months happened this week already but also it's been a week that has gone by in the blink of an eye so someone please tell me why time has no effect on me now as a missionary because I'm so confused up in here.

This week non the less has been AMAZING!!! I got to experience my first exchange, lots of pizza this week haha, lots of language study, meetings with president, FIZ!! the temple!! and some really BIG progress in those we are teaching.

The members UGH!!! WE have the most amazing members EVER!! They are feeding us like crazy it's such a blessing!! Feed the missionaries when you can it fuels our days haha. We have loved getting to meet all the members our bishop has asked us to be visiting an inactive members list everyday. So we do our best to stop by some of the houses everyday. The list is kinda long it stresses me out. But we love getting to meet with them. So we are very prayerful for these members and are getting excited to be in more of their homes and hopefully start seeing them again on Sundays:)

My exchange to another area made me realize how good I have it right now haha the members are seriously so amazing!!! The areas we walk around and serve are much nicer and the people are a lot sweeter. Not as humble as the area I was in though. Those people were SO humble and loving its awesome. While in the lesson with this sister all you had to do was listen and I am finding it really hard to just listen when you have such good news to share haha but I'm learning!!

This week was amazing for the work!!! It's all I can think about now. I have dreams about it now haha I feel like an official missionary haha.  Anyways on a real note we met Letty this week and she is AMAZING she said she feels like God is telling her to come closer to him and that we are going to help her, it's like she read the missionary purpose or something haha we met her while knocking on doors that felt like they needed us and she so happily said she would love to hear a Bible message and have us come back for a Bible study!!! So we went back 2 days later and we met her whole family and had a Bible study. She was like a sponge!!! She LOVED everything that was being shared and we now have a scheduled day or two a week to come and see her and share more and more about the Bible and hopefully in this lesson this week we will leave her with a book of Mormon:)) she's literally my queen I LOVE HER and her family. Her son Thomas came and sat next to us as well and talked with us and it was amazing. Hopefully we can start making it a family home evening soon!!

Sister Radford is an asl missionary and CODA so usually she doesn't need to practice asl because it's her first language but we are now studying together after meeting the mission president who told me to take every opportunity I get so now I am learning asl from her. She says the best way to learn is to become fully immersed. So we now pray in asl everyday. I am learning SO much it's SO AWESOME!!! God is great is all I have to say and he WILL be answering your prayers even the simplest ones.

OH YEAH!! I met the mission president this week finally and had my interview with him it was awesome!!! It was more me listening but hey non the less i cannot wait to meet him more. Hopefully at zone conference. We were in the area so we walked the grounds of the temple, which is MUCH smaller than I thought. All the pictures make it seem crazy big and that is not the case, and got to enjoy some FIZ or dirty soda as well!! It was an awesome day!!!

Okay okay last story and than I promise I'm done. If you make it this far I applaud you!! While at district council this week and while we were having lunch someone came into the church looking for the "leader" we told her we could point her in the right direction and give her a number of one of the bishops in the building (there is 4 haha for the 4 different companionships) she told us some of the members love her COFFEE and wanted to give us some free samples haha it was so hard not to laugh when all of us looked at each other in fear. We couldn't yell her it was wrong because other members had already been there haha and we didn't want to just give a lesson. But we did haha we gave her the whole rundown and a great lesson with 7 missionaries discussing and changing her life haha and than we gave her a book of Mormon obviously, a chapter to read, and than the challenge to read and follow through moronis promise!! Kinda dope!! I don't know why missionaries aren't in lessons with 4 other companionships haha

Anyways much LOVE!!!! I MISS YOU ALL!!! I am very happy, very healthy, and very happy it's a rest day today haha. I cannot wait to see what next week brings

The One Where Sister Wankier Went Through Trial by Hummidity

 HOWDY Y'ALL🤠🤠

I feel very obligated to say this because I am in fact a Texan now. No accent though in case you were wondering 😭😭 the accent in fact did gave to slip away because my roommate (mtc and college) aren't talking like that anymore and so it's slipping away!!! I know WORST news ever!!!!

BEST news ever haha I am in Houston!!!! Healthy, Happy, and Safe!! I am serving in the Cypress area!! Specifically in Towne Lake!! The houses here are GORGEOUS!! some neighborhoods just back right into a lake so they all have docks and boats and it's gorgeous!! Lots of expensive places!! Kinda boujie out here!!

The first few days have been awesome!! Every single night we have had a member feed us dinner 🥰🥰 let me tell you they mean the world to me!!! I have loved meeting every single one of these families!! Each one has a unique story full of their conversation, love, or need for this church and it truly is a testament to me that this church is a refuge for so many families.

One of the wonderful friends I want to tell you about it Steven. He is a single father of 3 now that his wife has sadly past of cancer. He was also a cancer patient given 2 weeks to live and he has pushed through and flourished in 8 years of life. While speaking with him only briefly for a day this week you can tell he knows we bring some kinda of happiness and comfort he just doesn't know what yet. And I cannot be more thankful i get to teach him about this wonderful eternal plan of families and happiness!!

OHHHHH ALSO AWESOME NEWS!!! I have to tell y'all first THE CHURCH IS TRUE haha like legit!! Prayers and tiny miracles have come to past everyday of my life this past few days in this field one VERY VERY special one being that I had dreamed about becoming an ASL missionary but than dropped the idea once I got my call and than recieved an email close to leaving stating that there is a deaf branch here and 5 ASL missionaries serving in it. Which meant I still had a chance and the prayers never stopped!! Until entering the MTC and realizing that It probably wouldn't happen. I still had much hope and a prayer in my heart but my mind was out of the question. WELL back to the church being true haha I recieved my companion information the Sunday night prior to entering the field Wednesday of that week. While stalking for my companion Sister Radford, her profile stated ASL missionary. And I immediately thought there is no way and rationalized the idea that I was just getting my hopes up and didn't want too just in case. THAN I enter the church building where our trainers were and there she was SISTER RADFORD!! my ASL trainer!!!!!

No I'm not an ASL missionary BUT she is and within the first 2 days of me being in the field I was BEYOND blessed to follow her along on a pass off lesson and met 2 more ASL missionaries!! While teaching Luis I was able to watch as they taught him the Doctrine of chirst in sign and in pictures and in a picture book of Mormon. My heart if so full for our Heavenly Father and savior Jesus christ. They are too sweet to me to allow me to see the light of a lesson that was shared silently. One where no words were said and I still could feel the spirit beaming out of my chest!!!

AND GUESS WHAT!! they allowed me to close the lesson with my testimony in ASL!!!! SAY WHAT!!!!  These ASL missionaries and amazing!! They have my whole heart when it comes to teaching and sharing and living the deaf culture. I have NEVER felt more spirit than being able to bare my testimony of jesus christ in asl. I still cry now just thinking about the opportunity i had to talk about my savior in a language that means so much to me. Moral of the story THE CHURCH IS TRUE!! And I am SO THANKFUL that my Heavenly Father has sent me a trainer like Sister Radford. I have learned so much from her already!!!

God is good 🥰🥰🤗🤗

Anyways to sum up this terribly long email!! I am safe and happy and excited and most of all seeing the lords hand in my life which us the best gift of all. 😇😇🥰🥰 The ward we are in is amazing!! We have a full meal calendar for this month 😱😳!! And everytime i meet a new member my heart becomes more full of happiness and love and excitemnet!!! The people we are serving and meeting and teaching everyday are simply the light of my life and I cannot wait to continue forward serving the people of Houston texas.

A BIG OLE TEXAS I LOVE Y'All
