Morning y'all
PSA this will be the longest email yet!! A LOT just happened!!
Well to start I'm 2 months and 2 days done as a missionary lol which seems so small but feels so big to me
and went by in the blink of an eye!!! We celebrated by eating with the Garza family for dinner at the most AMAZING steak house EVER!! They are the best family ever.
WE HAD A LEMONADE STAND!! IT WAS AWESOME!! Kinda hilarious but so so much fun!! We did it with the whetstone elders and actually met a ton of people!! We want to do it again sometime soon when we have more time
We held Elder Watts funeral this week. Lol RIP to my first district leader!! Can't wait to see him married in 6 months lol!! It was so fun we all had like a open mic for final words after his companion gave the eulogy!! And we each got up and said a funny moment and a meaningful thank you and it was awesome
than we ate crumbl
We volunteered at a new place down in another zone in Cypress called Cam and we LOVED volunteering there with the zone leaders. It was A LOT cleaner than our other service place haha but it was awesome you help families out that don't have enough food. And they take all these donations from everywhere and organize them into like a grocery store. And so me and Sister Radford got to like help them grocery shop down the aisle. They have a maximum of what they can have but it was a ton by the end. And all the volunteers there were so cute they would just give more every single time it was amazing. Than once they are done shopping we weigh it and than bag it and send them home with a HUGE amount of groceries, it's about a months worth!!
We have the best ward I cannot lie haha so back to the subject line. A greenie breakfast is when the Keyser's in the ward invite you over and almost break the greenie (me) haha that's kinda dramatic but whatever. In other words this is suppose to get the greenie out of their shell and make sure they talk and don't close up and are out going haha it's suppose to happen the first week you arrive but i fooled them into thinking i am not a greenie haha actually i have fooled the whole ward. I love when they ask me "How long have you been out" and i say 2 months and they say NOOO you can't be and im like jokes on you im still training lol anyways the greenie breakfast is a whole breakfast OF GREEN!! GREEN WAFFLES, ORANGE JUICE, MILK, WHIPPED CREAM, SYRUP, EGGS, and BACON!!!! the green bacon was simply beyond impressive!!!! But it was an awesome green breakfast made me laugh quite a but :))
Okay before u talk about zone conference i have to tell you I was tricked unto being conductor lol and it was terrifying haha thats all
This week was my first Zone Conference!!! We combined with all the missionaries in the Cypress Zones!! So Cypress and Houston West (us) and Bridgeland. Had car checks and lots of training and some authentic Mexican food from Hermana Barolla (who is an icon I need to tell you more later) and than finished with training from our stake president. WHICH GUESS WHAT!! THIS MAN WORKS FOR THE FBI like NO CAP!! kinda lit haha Anyways zone conference was amazing. We got to hear from all the wonderful senior missionaries!! They are like the grandparents of the mission!! It's amazing they just adopt you in!! Sister Frary's training was one of my favorites. She talked about how to love one another and what difference that makes as a missionary!! We had the first councilor in our missionary presidency speak and talk about the elect and how to find them and how to let those not ready roll off your back because another missionary will come and pick it up later. It was really hard for me to hear because I DONT LIKE DROPPING PEOPLE!! AND I HATE NO'S sometimes they feel personal haha which can be hard :(( but it's okay I'm getting MUCH better than when I started. We than had some training from one of our AP's who told us we have all kinds of Spanish learning resources coming. And that we can learn spanish if we try and put in the effort and seek the lords help. Finally Hermana Barolla spoke on how thankful she is for missionaries. (simply a queen
I love her
) and how we have a divine work to be done. And we can do it. Finally President Barolla stood and spoke on how to not fear and trust the lord!!
Which was much fitting because right before zone conference started I literally was told my trainer was leaving me
he said he was praying about it but it seems like it was set in stone for Sister Radford. So it felt like the whole Zone Conference was dedicated to me. President Barollas remarks were awesome. Reminding us to listen to the lord and his love and guidance and support. And than he dropped the atomic bomb onto the whole Texas Houston Mission.
Everyone... EVERYONE!! In this mission will start learning Spanish today and be sent to a Spanish area in the future. YA HEAR THAT IM GOING SPANISH!! I AM NOW HERMANA WANKIER!! Haha don't worry I'm not a hermana yet I just learned to say that correctly lol so I have a long journey. But for now I'm utilizing all the tools I have and taking Spanish head on. But don't worry Sister Radford and I will be doing 30 minutes language study everyday for ASL still over zoom i'm not going home without being fluent haha. So my trilingual joke before will be 100% true now haha.
Long long long story short. I love this mission!! My Mission president is an inspired man and him and his wife and truly changing so many lives out here. Including mine
All the senior missionaries are the best step grandparents I could ask for (don't worry grandma and gramps and Nana and bompa they don't come close to you haha but they will work for now) our fellow missionaries are amazing!! And this work is the best thing to ever happen to me.
Church this Sunday after everything was a tough one. Sister Radford and I were quite emotional. We walked in and multiple people who were on vacation went out of their way to wave to us :(( Sister Garza sat with us. Sister hart gave us the best MOM hug yet. And Brother McArther threatened to storm presidents office today if he was going to move either of us. You can really feel this wards growing love for us. Especially Sister Radford she took a missionary struggling ward and make it so our meal calander is being fought over. I truly look up to her like crazy. Church was emotional thinking about either of us leaving. Sunday was the news of transfers we recieve them pretty late like 10 ish but everyone was quite invested. Which means the world to me. I wanted to be this missionary and now I got to see the best example of one in Sister Radford.
We received transfer news and I will be staying in Towne Lake with a new trainer coming in. And Sister Radford is headed back to the deaf branch
it's a funny feeling. I know it will work out.. Hopefully. But it still is so hard to loose a new best friend (for now lol im dramatic haha) It was a good and long Sunday night haha we got calls from all our zone asking where we are going and who is coming in! Our district is the same but my new trainer and Elder Giles as well. Sister Radford and I laughed and talked about all kinds of funny memories before we went to bed. We started packing up some of her decorations and it feels like moving out of college all over again. It will be an exciting new adventure. Send prayers lol
Send fun life updates
P.s. so awkward I forgot to explain my love for Hermana Barolla. She came and sat next to me in our end training and once we finished she said my hair is gorgeous and where i go to get it done. I said sadly the girl who does my hair THE QUEEN HERSELF. ELLIE ENGLAND is in Utah :(( so I haven't gotten my hair done yet here and she said you tell her when I find a place because she loves my hair ANYWAYS I love her with everything in me she knew the way to my heart
P.P.S you need your hair done go to Ellie she is the literal best!! I'll send the details if needed
P.P.P.S I am going to miss RADDAD
