Hi Y'all
This week has been AMAZING!! I think I have said this for the past month but I swear it only gets better and better every week
This week has been FULL of ups and downs and quick Dan's in the car before we had to race to another lesson, lots of potatoes and brisket, a wonderful gentleman who told us we were the good kind of solicitors, and a ton of promptings for baptisms
Okay to begin!! Our week began with Tuesdays being SO CRAZY!! We had service in the morning. Lunch with the district and than studies and than we were off to the races getting to out first lesson of the day. No time to think or chill it was MOVE MOVE MOVE ALL DAY!! We went and visited Kelley first. She is one of the newest friends of ours. We talked about the restoration and the book of Mormon because she loves Jesus Christ and what better way to know about him than a whole book of scripture with his name on the front. She LOVED the story of Joseph Smith and his faith and accepted the promise of Moroni reading Alma chapter 36 this week we are extremely excited to go and visit her this week again!!
Once that lesson finished we were off to dinner. While texting members to check in on them haha lots was happening on our way to the Hart's home. Sister heart is a wonderful soul truly my mom out here in the field. She became a convert 3 years ago and has 2 wonderful daughters named Kyrie and Koko!!! She has decided to let them decide if they want to be baptized and so we get to have dinner with them and a wonderful family home evening. I even got to spot Koko on some backends and she did them herself perfectly while we were there it was amazing.
We headed to lesson 3 but had to reschedule with King because there wasn't any women in the house so we didn't get that lesson but we took the 30 minutes to plan for lettys lesson, text more members, and have a 10 minute Dan (daily afternoon nap haha) in good old Betty before heading to lettys home. (Okay side note haha later this week we taught king and HE EXPRESSED HIS TESTIMONY AND FAITH IN THE BOOK OF MORMON so that's like legit!! He's awesome we are feeling SO BLESSED!! and we are planning to talk to him next lesson *Thursday* about baptism and setting a date.)
We got to lettys house and Thomas her 9 year old son came RUNNING he was so excited to have us over again it was amazing. We had an awesome Bible study where me and sister radford felt the spirit so strongly telling us to be patient. I HAVE NEVER been so impatient in my life than that whole lesson haha we read John 14 with her and all I wanted to do was tell her the restoration and the gospel and eternal families and the plan of happiness and ask her to come to church and very baptized!! She is Golden!! Beyond golden her and Thomas and PLATINUM!! they are amazing. Thomas piped up the whole Bible study with questions and comments and it was the coolest spirit ever. Even though we were both told to wait I cannot wait to finally have the chance to tell her everything :)) this gospel is truly amazing
Okay I'm sorry this email is already long haha but this week seemed to follow the same outline as Tuesday. We had an insane amount of lessons full of spiritually uplifting and guiding messages. We found 2 new wonderful people. We met Ariana at the boardwalk (kinda the very expensive mall in Towne lake) at our favorite place to eat and got to share how Jesus christ knows and feels all even breakups haha!! I seem to know those too well maybe she just knew haha either way we are having small lessons with her now and it makes my day. For the past 4 nights in our ward we have been fed mashed potatoes with brisket on them or baked potatoes with brisket on them and let me tell you it's DELICIOUS but also HEAVY and when you are on the run there is NO time for a food coma haha the stomach of iron is truly a blessing for missionaries!!
OH MY GOODNESS I almost forgot!! This week we got to have lunch with the amazing Corky!! Crazy crazy story!! My STL Sister Allen, in the MTC was raised in Houston texas and than moved to Harriman Utah!! She adorable and loves houston so she told me lots of awesome placed to visit and eat but I got a random text Monday night from her telling me she had reached out to an old friend over Facebook when she saw her and her family were with some missionaries. She had a feeling to text her about me and ask about those missionaries. She than proceeded to text her and ask if she knew me (very well knowing she didnt but had to get a conversation going somehow haha). Saying we spent some time together and bonded in the MTC, Corky said no but that she was going to meet me. Within the next 20 minutes she had friended me, planned a day, and time for lunch on Wednesday. And Sister Allen's mom had sent me a run down of the whole family. Adding onto it for the coming 2 days haha. It was the most stressful experience of my life. I was so worried. I had to make sure this went amazing. It infact was awesome. Me and sister randford were able to share out testimonies as guided by the spirit and she than proceeded to tell us she needed to hear them.
Me and sister radford afterwards due to stress took a 3 hour stress coma nap haha it was crazy!! We woke up thinking it was another century
We laugh because missionaries have levels to gage where they are at. Green being golden. Having the time of their lives with no worries in the world. Yellow and orange decreasing on the way down in worried and stress. Ending with Red (our mission presidents favorite one haha in a good way). Red means you are feeling overworked and overwhelmed. Me and sister radford say we are at a very healthy RED haha we have so much going on in the best ways it's so awesome. MISSIONARY WORK ROCKS!!
OKAY I'm SO sorry this is the longest email ever haha but there has been so much one last super summary and than the torture is over haha!! We met a poet who was also kidnapped who also has had 7 life saving surgerys who was finally a convict 2 times for things she did not commit. We have had 2 awesome lessons with her. She has some amazing insight. She is also running for local governments shooting for national. We had a very yummy dinner with the garza family this week at a texas roadhouse In TEXAS it felt legit being there. And finally we were able to get Sally a priesthood blessing for some health worries and anxieties about her coming appointments.
To sum up this VERY long email MISSIONARY WORK IS SO AWESOMEthe fifth Sunday lessons were amazing. AND we got to teach the primary about how to be missionaries which was even more amazing :)) I cannot wait for another week ahead!!
Write soon!! I would love to hear about your life!! I miss and love you all so much!!! If you remember or think about me this week say a little prayer in your hearts for all those we are teaching. We have a range of health issues, family issues, and simply needing an extra prayer of courage to extend these baptismal invitations this week :))!!!
God is so good!! I love you all!!
MUCH LOVE!!
Sister Wankier
